SEASON'S FIRST DROWNING AT STONE HARBOR FRIDAY. Stone Harbor.—The drowning ofMiss Bertha Johnson, while bathing on Friday morning, has cast a gloom over tlie neighborhood where Miss Johnson was known and loved. She was a member of the family of Mrs. Lewis Kolb, who has but recently arrived at Slone Harbor, having leased the Sanderson cottage on 93d Street, for the season. Her cries for help reached the ears of those on shore and several men hastened to her rescue, but the strong tide swept her farther out and when she was brought to shore all efforts to resusticate her were In vain. The undertaker from Court House was summoned, who prepared the ’ IhkIv to be sent to Philadelphia.

The music was of exceptional excellence Mrs. J S. Mmc-Oinloek arranged the program. Miss Jeanette Ferree presided at the org^n. Mr.
