AN ENT THE TROLLEY SALE. Sea Isle City’s traction company has been sold; or at least, the road, rails, wire, cars and other equipment has changed hands, and according to the latest word, will be taken up and junked. Thus is Sea Isle’s only means of communication with either Inlet to be sacrificed to the “high price of juuk.’’. Perhaps both Inlets, Strathmere and Townsend’s Inlet, will feel the need of the trolley more than will Sea Isle City. But need or no need, the wheels of the Sea Isle trolleys have moved for passenger service the last time. The loss of the traction system to the town is an irreparable one, but no sane person, much as they might realize this need, will blame the owners of the road for unloading a burden that has cost them many thousands of dollars in the past few years. The road has never paid, and with the present high cost of operation, and the shortage of help, it is rcr«onable to assume that a still greater loss would be suffered if the road were operated this year. Sea Isle City is by no means alone in this trolley difficulty. Cape May has passed through the identical experience that Sea Isle is about to undergo, and judging by the complaint of the owners of the Ocean City and Wildwood trolley companies, it will not be many moons ere they follow the same procedure. Automobiles are too handy gow-a-days for people to patronize the trolleys like in the good old days of yesterday. SONS OF THE FLAG. The present great world-war has given us many beautiful pieces of literature and poetry, not the least among which is a tiny bit of verse, headed, “Sons of the Flag,” given us by one of our subscribe 'ersTast week. The verse follows: Here'* to the *on* of the wind awept
