(Communicated ) Ne*t to the Fourth Libert) Loan end the news from abroad of the valor of our Dough-Boy* and "Air-nula". ihe chief topic of conversation—locallyi* the vacancy In the Board of Comml salon era No greater tribute could be paid to the name of the last duly-elected Mayor. than the fact that no citizen will 1 forward and demand that the of Mayor be declared vacant. All kinds of opinions and suggestion* are passed around, but owing to the legal necessity of the Issuance of a formal recall, (coupled with the fact that all residents deeply sympathize with the family of the Mayor In their peculiar and unsounded sorrow) there is every possibility that no election will be held this fall for a thin) Commissioner. It must he'reroembeied. however, that neither the City Clerk or either of the present Commissioners can take the Initiative in a>aUnalion tbit almost approaches the mag nltude of a municipal dilemma Any citizen, resident, or voter, has a clear and undisputed right to formally ask the City Clerk to call a Citizens' Meeting.
