Without exception these Institutions made possible the subscriptions of lbmasses. financing the bonds, and cluttering up their already overworked and draft-thinned clerical forces with the additional burden of taking care of the counties* hundreds of weeklypayment accounts, aid mite advances on bonds. The banks gave freely of their time, of their effort, and of their money in pushing the sale of bonds, with no pc* si hie thought of financial gain or se ward of any kind. It la very doubtful if without them, the loan could have been successful They are deserving of the everlasting gratitude and thanks of every patriotic American, to whom the success of the Liberty Loan drive was so itnpor-
