Remedy in Hands of Vetera, Not the Commissioners, Bays Acting Mayor, Who Challenges Debate. Editor Cape May County Time*: Dear Sir: I note the lengthy article signed "A. Critic” to your last and I am reluctant to make further reply to one who insists on anonymously agitating the voter* and taxpayers and would have them believe that we have an Illegal city government. but to Justice to the voten I feel that I should make a brief reply. It U surprising that any public spirited ‘'citizen, taxpayer and voter” would issue such statements as has A. Critic,” and yet he has hot sufficient courage to exercise the rights given him by law to remedy such con-

dition.

To prove conclusively the absurdity of his slate-ments and inferenc«e that the present commissioners are denying or blocking any rlgbu that the people be entitled to. namely to this case, a full representation as provided by law. I respectfully call attention to that section of the Commission Government Law which provides tor a "Recall” and which procedure places the power absolutely in the hands of the people, or rather voters, to not only recall and elect another Commissioner to place of the absentee, but If de'lrod remove either of the present ilonera. Therefore no act or acts of tue present commissioners can prevent the voters from electing a commissioner to fill tho absentee’s place smt I am unable to Interpret from the Law where any action on part of the commissioners la necessary to order that the voters may proceed to provide full representation. I heartily agree with “A. Critic” when he states that I know certain actions of the commissioners Is for a purpose: that purpose la, to the beat of our Judgment. "For the best interests of the taxpayers and advancement ! Sea Isle City. To make this matter entirely clear to the public, that myself and my colleague will be pleased to take the voters into our confidence to respect to this subject 1 respectfully challenge • A.
