The excepted shut-down of the .Sea Isle City gas plant, after being operated by the Receiver for the Easier holidays, occurred on Saturday noon of last week, and Sea Isle will have gas no more until the City, or some private corporation or individual buys

At the meeting of the Commissioners on Friday the preliminary steps were taken for the municipal purchase of the plant, and an offer for the property made to the Court. I f this offer is arrested, the City Commissioner* have the power, and will forthwith pas* the necessary ordinances to provide the finances, and to purchase the plant. It Is generally conceded that the plant under municipal ownership will pav. as there are certain contracts held by other public service corpora lions that can be taken over by the municipal-owned plant, which will Increase- IU earning power* by several
thousands of dollars a year.
The plan of the city 1* now lo lose no time fa buying the pl-nt and getting It In operation, and It Is hoped by all concerned to have the plant purchased. repaired and in operation by
Juno 10th at the latest.
