This affects all members of the force excepting the special offleers at the Municipal Pier, and Scbellenger’a Landing.
THE FOURTH OF JULY BIG EVENT AT SEA ISLE CITY. Record-Breaking Crowds Arrive for the Weekend Holiday, and Fourth Program Paaaet Off Very Successfully.
The greatest Fourth of July Sea Isle City baa ever known was the unanimous ‘opinion of the thousands who rpent the day here, and took pan in the various activities, despite the torrid heat, with the only coollpg breezes from the South along the beach front, and these rendered very nearly Ineffective by the beat of the sun. The program of events passed off without a hitch with the exception of .he bathing suit contest on the beach n the afternoon, this being delayed on arctftinl of the time consumed by the
shooting match.
The morning was given over to sports on.the bench, and the pusentailon of certificates of appreciation from the City to the boys in the service. The presentation was made on the pier, in the forenoon. Mayor Fitch and Senator Da lx, of Phll^lelphia. being the speakers. An orchestra sup^ plied the music, and after singing the national anthem, and invocation by Rev. J. T. Olllison.wMayor Fitch introduced Senator Uaix, who spoke of the bravery of the boys and the debt of gratitude the city and country owe* to Its young men who so valiantly answered their nation's call to the colors and made such splendid records.
