The music pier in Ocean City Is being boycotted L.y visitors since an admission fee of fifteen cents la being charged to the concerts. It la no unusual thing for only twenty or thirty persons to be in the audience, and often there are more musicians than people to listen to. them. Tbe City Commissioners contend- that at no other resort In the Slate can free music be had. and that tbe burden of maintaining the concerts Is becoming too beery a drain on the finances of the resort uriess tbe music can be made at least partly self-Bustaining. Unless the concerts are better patronized. It la the txpreeaed Intention of the City to dis-
continue the music entirely.

In Its last Issue It says: 0\ 1 crowded trains, running late, were tbe only means of transporting tbe thousands of visitors from Cape May and other seashore oo<nts to their homes last Sunday. Railroads blame the people for tbla. V-cause >uey had idvertlaed prim, to tbe 4th (hat tbe regular cut-rate excurIons would not run during the hollIsyi. The reason given for this blow o the seashore towns waa "trsnsporatlon of troops." As a matter of fact, t baa been apparently proven that while on one road there was 181 txsdp ■sr* In opevstlom on July 2, and 128 in July 2, there was but 99 on Independence day, east of Pittsburgh. Rail--uad authorities also pointed to the act that the public had hseu advised o discontinue train ride* during the months of June and luly. In other word*, tt is advised that tbe public do not utilise a public uiilttjr. It was also learned that about 169 care which might have been used were allowed to stand Idle, while paastugers stood, sprawled or leaned In ibe care running from Cape May and other South Jersey points."
