What bids fair to be the largest and fine*! baby parade ever uu-mpu-d In Sea tale City will be held on the boardwalk next Wednesday alternoon, under the auspices of the Women's Clric Club, working in conjunction with the Pbac« Jubilee Celebration Committee. Sea Isle City will present a festive scene on Wednesday, Thursday. Friday and Saturday of next week, when the four days' Peace Jubilee Celebra Ion, conceived by Dominic ClnL beat: •f the Ocean Pier Company, will be
staged.
Wednesday, the opening day ol the celebration, the Civic Club Uabj Parade will hold the center of Uk stage. Details of the parade will he found elsewhere in this issue. A shooting match will be held on Thursday afternoon south of the Ocean Pier, for which cash prizes wIU b< awarded. The Peace Jubilee Parade HI form at the City Hall at 2 o'clock and headed by a twenty-five-pleci brass band, will march down Land'* avenue. The parade wIU be open to all and it Is hoped to have all organlUona of the city represented The "hooting match will follow immediately after the parade. Carnival Day. Friday will be Carnival Day. The afternoon will be devoled to sports ou beach. Including stick races barrel races, pie eating contest and greasy pole contest. Friday evening a huge Carnival and Mardl Gras will be held the Boardwalk between Paris street and Garrisou street. The parade will form at 9.3U o'clock and terminate al in o'clock, with a maaquenuie hall the Uce*n Pier. Three judges will view the parade and award cash prices for the most original, most comic and. beau til ul costumes. Anyone may enter the parade, the only requireroem being a mask, a plea aunt smile and us much or HtUc costume as fancy may dictate. The boardwalk will ,1k- beautifully decorated for the occasion. Saturday will be the big day of the Jubilee celebration and the day’s feslial will terminate in a grand firework display. Details of tee Stturdsy's promom will be published next week. A petition has been filed with the borough clerk of Avalon, calling for a special election for the adoption of Commission form of government, and notice has been given that the election would be held on Tuesday. September 2. The petition has been signed by nearly all the voters of the Borough, and the movement is receiving the hearty support of all factions of the Borough, who agree that a government by three commissioners would tend to greater efficiency in the conduct of the Borough’s business.
