BEA ISLE CITY'S BANK. # The charter for the First National Bank ot Sea Ule City has been refused. The Comptroller's Office, at Wash lug ton, lacked the common decency to even notiry the organising committee 01 the refusal, and It was not until ^oagresaman Bacharach Interested hlnueV In the matter that it was even known that the charter was to be denied. . The reasons given by the Comptroller's office were several, but of all given, the one real reason was omitted, and was not learned except through round-about agencies. Borne year* back the Comptroller’s office issued a rule that no national banks could be orgsnlxed by rnyooe l* whom s compensation was paid lor soliciting the stock. Or, In other words, a national bank could not be organised by a s#csUtd “professional organiser.*’ ■ And the Sea Ule City Committee committed the unpardonable offense Of employing such an organiser, because none of the members ot the CoinmiUee, could, at that time, give n-eeasary time to the solicitation ol stock subscriptions. So now, there lore, the Charter is refused, and though *i* the stock is subscribed, there is, ir. the coounou parlance, ■ Nothing doing.*' One ol two things must now happen-* and bapiKd quick. Either tkc bank allowed to die a natural death sod the deposit money refunded WITHOUT DELAY to the subserthers—or steps should at once be taken to have j-. organiser withdraw, organise without him, and re-apply tor the charter. In which cerent. it has been practically assured, it will be granted. U there was need for a bank six months or a year ago, there is need ot one today. U there is no need for a bank, iu attempted organ!ration was a mistake to begin with, and the sooner Us affairs ore wound up the better for all concerned. A commendable feature, which, beside the point should be mentioned. i» the kindly attitude of the three banks in which the bulk ot Sea Isle City ban kins Is done, and who would be most all eel «d by the esiabllshmcnt ol a local bank All three, the First Kettoual and tht Trust Companj, of Ocean city, and the Vu< kslnn- Nation *j, at Tuckahoe. have signified their Willingness to withdraw from the local livid as soon as a hank war eatcbllsbcd. and Lwi their encoumsemant and

a nXbty attitude. Party politics has so warped the vision of the Democratic Wildwood Tribune, that wtadt little balance and of fairness that organ ha* hnd since lu present control, ha* passed i the land of used-to-be. In lu exulUUon over the election of a Democratic Governor, the Tribune In 1U last Issue says: •Palmer Way. Esquire. Wildwood’s popular and successful lawyer will not he a candidate for the Common Pleas

Judge.”

Palmer Way U a Republican, and the Democratic Governor baa the appointment of the Judge. The Tribune forgets, all the while, that the fact that this County has had a Democratic Judge for the past three years is entirely due to the bigness ol s Republican Governor und a Republican Senator from this County, for dredge was appointed by none other thiin Governor Edge, upon recommendation of Senator Stevens, when there plenty of good Republican timber In the County tor the office. In (he Judgeship, as in other offices such as County Clerk, the question of politics should not he allowed to enter. The man beat fitted for the Job should
