Woodbine. Cape May County's manufacturing centra, la at the height of it* prosperity now. Every one of the manufacturing plants an working to capacity, and the workers are the host paid on earth and perhaps the most contented. The M. R. D. Hat Company, a New York concern, is operating with from sixty to one hundred help: the Woodbine Borough Clothing Company, a cooperative concern, with approximately one hundred; the Brads tone Rubber Company, the baby industry of the city, is commencing manufacture after six months of preparation, and u beaded by the most able men of the United State Rubber Company: the Children’s Clothing Company, of which Mayor Rabinowitx la head, is entering into a i.-.emr which will make it the largest clothing factory in the east and is now working with over two hundred hands. At the last meeting of the Borough Council a resolution was passed which will make practically an outlaw of any manufacturer who bids against another manufacturer in Woodbine for help. This means that what little ’■stealing" of help has occurred in the put is now ended, for back of the Borough Council is the Baron DeHlrsch fund, of New York, which controls not only the largest factory buildings, hut also the water and power supply—the latter, by the way are given to the manufacturers at cosL "Our only drawback." said a member of the fund lut week. Is a shortage of buildings for manufacturers. The workers for most part live in tbetr own homes, are contented and happy, and the city is free from all forms of labkr troubles.”

PROV1PE SEATS ON WALK.

December 1st. ISIS. The Editor of "The Cape May County

Dear Sir:—Now that the Commissioners have decided to redvek the boardwalk, why not, while the work is going on, install a few benches or the promenade in between the pa>Uikons, which on the north side of the Ocean Pier, are very few and tar between. acd which during the summer season, are always well filled with pee.i’.e. and many who want to slop and enjoy the ocean, must hang over the rail to do It? Every other seashore resort except Sea Isle City 1* supplied with them, and During my cay at the resort Iasi

many remarks made in regards to this lack of proviclon for the visitor* to the place. The benches could be ve-y simply made of wood. If new ones are not procurable, and taken to during the winter months, but some means ol providing seats along the walk surely ought to be made before next sum-

It Is the little things like the installment of these benches, which goes fur towards making It comfortable for the visitors who come either for the da> or to spend the whole season, and to

The cost would be Insignificant In comparison to the great comfort and enjoyment It would gl»e to the people who live in Bea isle and its summer
