WHALE BEACH HOUSES LOOTED B v THIEVES. Thieves entered the summer cottages of Junes Campbell and Joseph Fisher, at Whale Beach, and succeeded getitrg away with loot to the value of $4S«. A neighbor who visited his cottage recently noticed the doors of the Flsl. er and Campbell cottages open, and reported It on his return to Philadelphia. The question of the shut-down ol the gas plant was again brought up by Mayor Fitch, who read a lettei from the Gas Company's attorney, protesting against the resolution pasta-d by the Commissioners Iasi week, and staled that the shut-down was utia voidable because of the dangerous condition of the holler in the plant, and that efforts were being made to secure ew boiler. To this Mayor F'ltch replied that the company had knowledge of the boiler's condition six, months ago. but made no effort to remedy It. and that when the plant shut dow n the company was out of both oil and coal.
