CAPTAIN WOOD BURIED The body of Captain Thurston Elmer Wood arrived at Hoboken recently and funeral services were held at the homo of his parents, Main and Mechanic streeta. Cape May Court House. Friday afternoon. May 13th. at two o'clock. In charge of tho American Legion. Interment w»« made In Arlington cemeteryon Saturday. Captain Wood was killed In France on July 21, 1918. He was then a lieutenant hut had been recommended for promotion and tho order had gone through hut he was Tilled In action before received his papers. The young soldier was born at Co 'louse on Septemt>er It, 18VJ. He spent his bovhood at the county seat and wenl to M'ddle Township High School for three years. Ho then went to Washington. where he graduated from the Weston High School, Itelng the youngest scholar receive a diploma from that school, rfe then took the freshman year at the George Washington t'nlverslty and then dnd Shndman's Army and Navy Preparatory School, returning to C*orge 'ashlngton University to take a special course, and In June. 1914. entered West olnL graduating tenth In his class. He applied for and was rn.in.-ned to tho 12th Regular Field Artillery and left Pump Merritt for Liverpool on Jamuuy
