This week has brought forth a number of changes in the Cape May County political situation. It being officially ahnounced that Mayor Joseph G. Champion, of Ocean City, is a candidate for the Small Board of Chosen Freeholders, which will be elected next November and upon the candidates for which tbe voters will have a chance to register their choice in the Primary election on Tuesday, September 26th. Mayor Champion's running mates are to be Assemblyman Robert J. Kay. of Wildwood, and Charles P. Vanaman. of Middle Township. Mr. Kay was last year elected to tbe Anaembly and was to have been a candidate to succeed himself this year. His entry Into the Freeholder contest will leave the Assembly open, and for this post It has been hinted that former Judge J. M. E. Hildreth, of Cape May City, would be the candidate. Other candidates for the Small Board are Chaa. E. Foster, of South Seavllle; P. L. Peterson, of North Wildwood; Henry B. Cree, of Ocean City, and William J. Chadwick, of Ocean CUy.
