Corn Variety Demonstrations Edward Phillips, of Cape May, fln- | ished weighing the various strr.lns of corn which he has grown the past J summer under like condltoas. The, results were striking In that there was so great s difference In the weights of corn taken from the vari-
ous rows.
Each row contained 80 hills. The row yielding the highest was Lancaster County Sure Crop, which gave 121 pounds. The lowest yielding row was 71 pounds. No further statements will be made concerning this demonstration at this time. Later, when E. B. Thompson. Goahen. who la carrying on a duplicate of the same demonstration, secures the results of his test, both plots will be compared. If the same varieties perform alike in both plots, fairly accurate deductions can be made. { J. A. STACKHOUSE. County Agniculture Agent.

Freeholder Swain stated that the 2oO-year-old tree at Green Creek, which Is now dead, was on county road, and should be removed si county expense. This provoked considerable discussion. It being stated by some of the Freeholders that the tree was not on the road proper but on the shoulder and that tt was not up to the county to remove It. It finally decided to do the work at county expense, as tt is feared the county would be liable for any damage the falling of limbs may cause.
