Miss Marion Steelman, who was Miss Ocean City in the Atlantic City Pageant, has announced ber engageto W. Chester Ferguson, a Junior partner In the Ferguson ExCompany, of Ocean City, and who resi les at 1044 Asbury avenue. Miss Steelman lives at 431 Asbury
avenue.
“It came about like this,” Mies Steelman confided to a representative of the TIMES, who saw the lady at her home on Wednesday afternoon, a few hours prior to the announcement of the engagement. The honor guest sat with her throat swathed in cloths and suffering from an unwelccme sore throat. 'Ches and I met when I was going to Ocean City High School, was a case of love at first sight and has been so ever since. We do not expect to get married for at least a year and then will piobably make our home here In Ocean City.' Miss Steelman blushed prettily as she spoke of the future. Asked for a reason for plunging into the matrimony, she said that one very important consideration was the fact that she would no longer bo botheied with proposals from sundry youths who witnessed her rising fame as Miss Ocean City when on the Atlantic City boardwalk. Popularity. of that variety, she termed as •‘tiresome.” And besides she and "Ches" are deeply in love, that being the main reason. Misses Lucille Townsend. Mae Hoffer, Josephine Maginnis, Sarah Smith, Sarah Goff. Frances Bovin and Cecelia Newcomer, were the guests at the announcement party.
