Among taken up by the Almshouse Committee of the Board of Chosen Freeholders, was that of an "Accredited herd of cattle" for Cape Hay County. An “Accredited Herd” U one that is free !rom tuberculosis sad kept eo under the plan prescribed by the State Bureau of Animal Industry et Trenton. Under this plan the State Veterinarian will test free of charge any herd In thr State and condemn all animals reacting with tuberculosis. Farmers toeing animals as s result of such test are partly re-embureei by a fund provided for by the State Legislature and the U. 8. Department of Agriculture. The heH is then kept under constant supervision to see that new see do not break out. The Almshouse Committee has the surance of all the Freeholders that this step is a wise and progressive one and have consequently asked Lewi* Douglass, Manager of County Farm, and County Agricultural Agent Stackhouse to take the matter up with the State Bureau of Animal Industry at Trenton at once. It is felt that the County Farm should take the lead in this matter of Improving Its dairy herd me an maple for other dairies to follow.

Howell, was unanimously elected Poet Commander for the enaulug year. The following officers were also elected: Harry Christian. Vice-Commander; Harry Steel, Adjutant; Dr. Washburn, Historian ; Boyd Tyler, re-elected Finance Committee. Leslie Norton, Stanley Batts, Charley Springer. Elwood Langenhelzn and C.
