Miss M. Delaney and Miss Schmidt returned Wednesday from a week’s visit in Jersey City. Mrs. Theresa O Niel was a Quaker City visitor over the week-end. i turning home on Sunday evening. John Maturle, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Maxurte, was taken to St. Agnes Hospital, Philadelphia, oh Thursday afternoon, for an opera tlon for appendicitis. His condition la said to be serious. A new siren type whistle has been ordered for fire purposes by the City, and will be installed in the Electric Light Plant this week. The whistle has two tones, one a straight whistle and the other the siren. Every noon., at twelve o'clock sharp the whistle will be blown for about thirty seconds, this serving to keep it In good condition, and at the same time serving as a signal to set the clocks by. The siren, however, will be used only In case of fire, and the siren blast will be followed by short blasts from the ordinary whistle, to indicate the location of the fire, according to the code now in effect. It is expected to have the new whistle in operation by the end of this week.

DISTRICT LODGES MEET AT SOUTH SEAVILLS On Wednesday night about one hundred members of the various P. O. S. of A. camps throughout the County, headed ny their President. John W. Meyers, of Cape May. met with Washington Camp No. 109. P. O. S. of A., at South Seavllle. After the regular business session, an entertainment was provided by the local camp, conslstlpg of a concert by Washington Camp's No. 109 own band, assisted by Sea Isle City Band. Herschel Berry, noted must data of Millville, was greeted with applause. John Rocap entertained with a Jig dance. Refreshments were served, after which the P. O. 8. of A. catnr of Rio Grande asked those present to visit them on Monday night. COUHTY LEGISLATORS HAKE APPOIHTXENTf Assemblyman Ralph T. It Is stated upon reliable authority tha* Henry H. Ottens. of North Wildwood. in connection with three other men having Interests there, has purchased from Albert Hand, of Cape May. all rights and title to the publication known as the Wildwood Leader, the office of which Is nowlocated In the front portion of Hunt's Avenue Theatre. It is slated that the Leader office will be removed to ISth and Pennsylvania avenuee. North Wildwood, where Mr. Ottens’ real estate office Is established. Ottens and his partners. It Is said, will erect a printing building on a lot adjoining this real estate office and install printing machinery. The position of editor and manager of the publication has been accepted by Harry Wiilse. until recently manager of

the Sun-Tribune.
