Palermo; John Wilhelm and Newton Townsend, of Ocean View, and County Agricultural Agent Stackhouse at a meeting of sweet potato growers and County Agricultural Agents from Cape May. Atlantic. Gloucester, Camden. Ocean. Cumberland and Burlington Counties. Prof. Bchermerhorn. of New Brunswick, presided, and William Dills, of the State Board of Agriculture, and C. H. Ntosley. Vegetable Specialist, discussed grades of sweet potatoes with the Idea of building up the standards of "Jersey Sweets" above the grade of U. S. Grade No. 1. which to quite broad In Its scope and allows for too much variation according to the Garden State's idea of what a sweet Should be. After the grading Ideas of this meeting can be boiled down by the Bute Bureau of Markets, a set of grading rules will be sent to all •weet potato growers who are interested enough to apply to the Office of Farm Dtanonstratlon at Cape May Court House.
