Seen and Heard in Ocean City

Mr. and Mrs. Edward DeFraln. the former owning the DeFraln Sand Co., Of Philadelphia, have announced their intentions of spending the summer reason In this resort. They will reside at the Strand Hotel. Announcement has been made here that William E. Staff, a graduate of the Chautauqua Normal Institute of Education. New York City, has been secured to instruct the various resort business men in the ncwly-organired gymnasium class of the First M. E. Church here. Mr. and Mrs. R. H. Holringer. the former connected with the Burroughs Adding Machine Co., will arrive here Saturday to spend the season in the resort. Other season’s gueets who will remain at the Strand are Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Ney, of Philadelphia. The Strand Hotel. Ninth and Wesley avenue, reported a number of guests over the week-end. They Included Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Kerr, of Montclair. Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Jackton. E M. Hull. Miss Lilly Stewart, Mr. and Mrs. De Benster and family, of Philadelphia, and Mrs. E. Haines Hilliard, of Camden. With eight new policemen, members of the Ocean City Police Department for the coming season. Chief of Police Howard T. Johnson Is not ■hort-handed.
