At the regular meeting of the Cape May County Board of Freeholders, held at Court House on Wednesday, a resolution was adopted which prohibits the parking of au ton j biles within two hundred feet of any county bridge, and prohibits any parking near such brldgea at night. The new regulation will be enforced because of the growing custom of fishermen using the county bridges for their angling, parking cars either on the bridges or on the Immediate approach. making travel dangerous to other motorists. "We must cater to the vacationist' said Director Champion In speaking of this regulation "and for that reason I would not like to see fishing prohibited from county bridges. At the same time we must safeguard the public, and the parking of automobiles around the bridge approaches is a dangerous practice, and must be stopped.” Approved plans for resurfacing Roosevelt Boulevard turnpike into Ocean City from the mainland was received from the State,' and the Clerk was directed to advertise for bids for this work, bids to be opened on August 16th. At Wednesday's meeting the Freeholders wrestled with the problem ot preservation of the County records in the Clerk's office. County Clerk Hildreth appeared before the Board and stated that many of the frequently used record books were In danger of destruction because of tbe enormous amount of handling they have received In the past two years, when the volume of business In bis office was greater than In ten years previous. The constant handling of index books, deed bocks and the like has wot a out the binding, be stated, and tbe books must be rebound aa the records are absolutely essential. It was finally concluded that the matter could be termed an emergency, and tbe rebinding of the books could be financed under an emergency appropriation. The cost -111 be about
