Ocean City, for an extension of time on the completion of the work until October 1st. The contract expired on August 1st. and an extension was previously allowed until September 1st. Mr. Mansfield appeared before the Board In person, and stated, that he ww encountering difficulties in the placing of abutments. and that he did not Interpret the contract the same as the County Engineer, and that he would place these abutments as the Engineer required only under protest, and would then take legal action to collect what he thought would be due him for extra work. To this tbe Freeholders replied that he would be held to the strict performance of his contract, and an extension was given him to October first, as requested, with the understanding that this would be tbe final extension allowed. A resolution by the City of Sea Isle City, requesting the Freeholders to provide in the 1924 appropriation a sufficient sum of money to hard surface the Boulevard from Landis Avenue to the drawbridge, was received and filed for later considera-
tion.

Fisherman's Fall Causes Deep Gash Joseph Brown, a local pound fisherman. received a bad ga«h over his right eye when he slipped and fell In a fishing boat last Sunday morning. Brown waa in a serious condition when brought to Dr. Clarence Wray's office due to the shock and loss of blood. It was necessary to uae seven stitches to close the wound.
