On Wednesday the new press, a modern two-revolution high-speed Whitlock, arrived, and mechanics Immediately went to work on Us erection. Two weeks ago the new Intertype type-casting machine arrived. and this is now erected and In operation, so that the >)ld machine (which set the type for this issue) Is ready for dismantling as soon as its work Is done today. -The new office equipment and composing room supplies are now on their way. and It la hoped that by next Wednesday the plant will be functioning as smoothlly In the new location as It was In the old.

Four Local Applicants
The Fja Isle City Commissioners received lorty-nine applications for the position of City Manager. Many of the applicants answered an advertisement inserted in one of the trade
journals.
The applications were read at an adjourned meeting of the Commissioners in the City Hall last night. Engineers from every section of the County, with experience that embraced building projects In the Phu ipplnes to laying tubes under the Hudson, applied lor the position. Four local men. namely. A. LeKoy Muller, J. P. Delaney. Ed. Dever and Theodore DeBow applied for the position. The salary requested by the^e applicants range from *1,800 to
