the Tax Payers and Voters of Sea Isle City Sea Ue Gty’« existug form of Govertimeiu, the Gwan»?d<» Form, Has proven itsdf to be tFe most ef- ; (asm of government, for both large and rmaR efeies in the Stalj of New jersey. Ibis is an absolute fact based upon result* obtained by all municipalities that have adopted die Commission form of government. Under this form of Government, your City is governed by three commisriooers and they transact the business of die Gty for a nominal salary. The three commissioners are at all times directly responsible to you. Furthermore tfsey cannot shift this responsibility to any other person or persons. Should they not perform their duties sansfactodly to you or execute the business of the Gty properly they are at aB times subject to recall by your votes, and you can replace any one or all of them with other commissioners. Have any cities discarded this form of government for the old Council form of government? Other than those where disappointed politicians and disgruntled knocker? and chronic kickers have gotten out petitions and a -ed the few mistakes that may have been made by the present Commissioners. Is this the only way that the knockers can gain their ends? Is not the welfare of die Gty worth while? Cannot knockers lay aside persc ua! grievances and petty politics for the good of their own cocunurv'ies? Have they not redress in the recall? Supposing this Gty would adopt the old Council form of government. Who will be die Mayor and Councihnen? if they are mt satisfactory to the whole interests of the Gty, in the opinion of the voters, HOW CAN YOU RECALL. THEM? WHO CAN YOU HOLD DIRECTLY RESPONSIBLE FOR THE WELFARE OF YOUR CITY AS YOU DO NOW UNDER THE COMMISSION FORM GOVERNMENT? A ay of the knocker is, "The salaries of the coKmissioiiers will be saved.” The knocker knows that this is not true and that is one of his mcst successful ways of gaining his end. That is the only reason he says it. He knows as we aB know that it is false economy. A man wifl produce better results where he is paid a nominal salary mid hen to astune responsibility, than a man that contributes hk time and efforts and has to ASSUME NO respomihility. The old saying holds true, “You cannot get something for nothing." Our Gty ■■ndw die present form of government has shown more progress and is in better condition today than ever before. Every one who has d« welfare of our Gty at heart should be sure to come ou. on May 20th and vote to uphold good government. We make this appeal to you, the progressive voters and taxpayers of Sea Isle Gty to vote against any change of govenuueet. To do so would be a step backwards. Support the present form of government when you go to the pofls on May 20th and protect your interests. Heartily Endorsed by the Following Committee of Sixty s
