A few years ago preachers In China were so unintellectual, said Mr. Lee, that If a man failed In everything he attempted, everyone believed he waa fitted to be a preacher. The conception has changed, however, he said, and now a man ha* to be called and prepared for the work. To be admitted to the seminary an applicant must have a good academic education and be strong phyaisally. He must be strong theologically and be a defendant of the old faith. Many are making great sacrifices, even to the selling of their poaeeealonm. to preach In China. Moat of the churches are poorly equipped, and many people travel ten and fifteen miles to attend service.
