Mn. Esther B. Tomlia Mrs. Esther B. Tomlin, widow of Edwin h. Tomlin, of Corbin City, died at her home about 7 P. M. Uat Sunder- Mrs. Tomlin had been ill for some time. Her end was hastened by the death of her husband, who was shot James Pettit, one of the bandits that held up and robbed the Tuckahoe National Bank. Mrs. Tomlin waa not Informed of the occurrence when her husband was injured, but wsa told that her husband had been Injured In a motor accident to explain hie Lkter she waa told the

Mrs. Tomlin was In her 70th year. She had been married alt a century. She U survived by a son, William Tomlin, of Atlantic City, and her daughter, Mrs. Edna Bailey, of Ha*brouck Heights, N. J. The services, held In her home In Corbin City, were attended by many friends of the couple. Rev. C. 8. Lawrence ard Dr. Walter Terkce. of Tuckahoe, conducted the services Wedneeday afternoon. Inwas In the Head of the River Cemetery. Mn. Frank Baoglau Mrs. Prank Douglass, age 83. paaaed away at her home In Dias Creek. A communication from the AtIrutlc City Electric Company attempted to explain and > ccuse the condition brought about by cestlon of electric service on Saturday night, April 26. when all lights were out throughout the county for over two hours. V was elated that the severe electrical storm was the cause, and that steps were being taken that this should not happen again. The Cape May County Firemen's Association requested that suction plugs be placed at all county bridges, as a precaution against fire. This was referred to the Bridge Director. Library Wants Money Alfred Cooper, president of the

Cape May County Library Commlseloti, asked that 31600 made available for the Commission on June 16. This will used to pay for the truck which will be delivered on that day. The Commt'ilon has engaged Mlee Bessie McGregor, of Staten Island, as librarian, and has engaged quarters on Mechanic Street for the county library headquarters. The Sheriff's report for feeding prisoners for April showed an expenditure of 3327.36 for that purpose, and stated that the Jail was ne»*r so crowded, as high as , tv ent,--eeven prisoners being In at one time. Director of Bridge* Champion stated that the concrete abutments to several bridges were crumbling sway, and were now being replaced, and that the canal bridge at Avalon must be entire ly re-built and the Leonard'* Thoroughfare bridge, Avalon, most be overhauled. The Engineer was directed to prepare plans for the work.
