Audubon Society Seeks Endowment Fund The New Jersey Audubon Society Is encouraged to anticipate results in Its campaign for an endowment fund, according to Information from the society's Newark

office.

This campaign was launched with the successful culmination of the long and bitter fight for bobolink protection, the Importance of adequate financial resources for organised and systematic wild bird conservation having been accentuated during the bobolink fight. Some Ume since, a gentleman residing In Monmouth county signified bis Intention of leaving to the society his property, to be used as a wild bird sanctuary. More recently a woman member from the same county has urged the establishment of such a sanctuary, she being particularly Interested In the pine barrens and also desirous that a sanctuary should safeguard the native wild flowers and vegetable growth. This woman hoped to make a bequest to be used In the maintenance of such a sanctuary, If established. SU11 another member has Intimated that property for a sanctuary and a fund for its maintenance might be expected to be provided for In her will. With these promising prospects In view, the immediate problem confronUng the society Is the establishment of an endowment fund for the adequate carrying on of the many important phases of the society's regular bird protection work, including such measures as bobolink protection, now happily provided for.
