No Traffic Jams at Standard Road Markets Congestion ot automobile traffic In the vicinity of farmers’ roadside markets, heretofore a serious problem to State police, will be largely eliminated, highway officials believe, through a movement organized by farmers to erect their stands ten feet or more back from the roads. With the better locations and ample parking space, ft will be unnecessary for customers to leave their cars partly on the main highway, blockading and endangering other traffic. The campaign organized by members of the State Horticultural Society, and approved by the Bureau of Markets of the State Department of Agriculture, has been lauded by W. G. Sloan. chi«f engineer of the Highway Commission. and by Colonel H. N. Schwarkopf. of the State Police, as an Important aid In keeping traffic moving and preventing accidents. They hope to see every owner of a roadside market on the main thoroughfare adopt the regula-

tions.

All proprietors who agree to locate their stands as above mentioned. to keep the place neat and sanitary and to adopt certain business prlndplee of protection for the buyer, will be given official recognition and will be permitted by the State Department of Agriculture to use the term "N. J. Standard Farmers' Roadside Market." This "standard" sign will Indicate to the tourist that the farmer is not only offering the beat Quality of products, but that In his new self-imposed regulations. he Is co-operating in s measure with the four State Departments of Agriculture.
