Proclamation Clean Dp and Paint Dp Know all men. women and children by these presents: That wnereas our rummer season Is here and our city will entertain thousands of visitors and it Is to our community's advantage
paint up has resulted In many advantages to community life throughout United States. In safeguarding health. In promoting thrift. In furthering fire prevention. In stimulating civic pride and In making the home and city beautiful. Now. therefore, be it known that plans have been perfected for a thorough Clean Up rnd Paint Up Campaign, starting In Sea Isle City. June 15. This date Is to mark the opening of a real campaign and persistent and constructive effort In cleaning up and keeping It up. In this worthy movement we urge each citizen to do bis or her best part In making our community Clean. Healthy. Thrifty. Safe and Beautiful. (Signed) MAURICE M. SOFRONEY. Mayor. Next Monday a clean up and paint up movement sponsored by the municipal authorities will be conducted. Every petaon. young and old. Is urged to participate in the campaign to put the city In Its best dress. In declaring the proclamation. Mayor Sofroney stated: “I am heartily in faver of this clean up campaign. The prosperity of Sea Isle City lies in no small measure with Us visitors. We should endeavor to make a lasting and favorable Impression upon every visitor that comes to our resort and I know ot no better *ay of creating such a favorable Impression than by presenting the city In 1U beet possible appearance. To clean up our city, however. Is no small Job. It is not difficult, however. If everybody does Just s little share and without this cooperation the movement cannot be a success. Prom all appearances Sea Isie City is going to enjoy a ■ banner year. Hundreds of persons that never visited this resort before will arrive. This is an added : incentive to make the campaign a success. Our season is here, we can't delay. The city will do Its part." Special provisions have been | made to dispose of any rubbish that can be collected. On Monday i trucks and teams for the collec-j tlon of rubbish*will start at the; northern end of the city and work toward the south. On Tuesday I collections will be made from the center of the ctty and southward. Anything that can be carted, will be carried away. In placing receptacles containing papers and other materials that can be blown away ‘hey should be covered or weighted down that this cannot occur. Special efforts will be madt In cleaning up the streets and highways and removing glass. All loose grass and other materials will be gathered. Utmost care should be used in burning off grass and weed plots. Before this Is attempted the Fire Department should be Informed. Ocean Gty Enjoying Near Real Estate Boom The activity In Ocean City real estate baa caused many of the cltixens to wonder If the unprecedented conditions of 1923 are about to be repeated. The recent transfers show hotels, apartments, houses, lota and every kind of property changing ownership. Almost without exception properties are changing hands at higher figures than two years ago . Perhaps tbs largest transaction of last week was when 101 lots In the heart of tbs Garden tract were sold In parcel lots. Most of these lots were purchased by persons living in Ocean City. A number of homes that are being erected in this section are being equipped with heat for all year use. The water and gas companies have difficulty in keeping pace with the rapid growth in this section.
