Want* To Give Air Flights Aeroplane flight* may be eUged this summer on the Ocean City beech. At the last Commissioners' meeting a communication was read from Edwin H. Cole, of Avalon, asking the city to give hkn permission ,o conduct flights from the Ocean City beach. As s landing place Cole suggested the beach at Twenty third Street would be suitable, as this section Is not frequented with bathers. If granted permission. Cole stated the flights would be not lew than eight mlnut— duration. No fllght-i would be staged over the congested sections of the beach. Cole Is an experienced airman and ha* conducted flight* In various sections. City Solicitor Boewell sUted the Commissioners could not give perml—lou for Cole to use any section of the beach except that owned by the city. He also stated the city would not tk- 'table unless it received aome pecunL-xy benefit. The matter was referred ti Mayor Champion by the Commissioners for disposal. Dr. W. P. Haln— reported Ralph L. Barber, of 928 W—t Street, an employ— of the city, required an operation as a result of an injury that occurred when Barber attempted to lift a great weight. The Commissioner* directed that Barber receive proper medical attention and the cost, not to exceed |100. be submitted to U>em. A letter from the City Gas Light Company, stating this company ha* a claim of $1,200 against the Union Paving Company, was read. The letter stated many of their pip— had been d—troyed by the Union Paving Company or Its subcontractors. City Solicitor Boewell stated the dty was not a party to this and It was a matter beyond their Juris-
