Va.. wne shot and Instantly klUed at Wildwood, by Clt/ Detective Jamea Hamilton of that reaort, Sunday morning about 1J.J0, when he attacked Hamilton, who bad stopped him as a auspicious character and then fled. Ignoring tUe detective's orders to halt Hamilton was exonerated of all blame for the killing by the Coroner'a Jury, after it had held a four-hour neeelor from 11 to 3 o'clock Tueaday afternoon. Hamilton inspected Jenkins of bdrg the man who attempted to bold up Sydney Aech, a New York salesman, on the boardwalk the previous morning about 1.30 o'clock, inch tussled with the bandit, a negro, who made a getaway and Asch later gave a description of the man to Hamilton. Hamilton stated at the Inquest that about 11 o’clock Saturday evening he noticed a colored man, who proved to be Jenkins, acting suspiciously. The detective followed him until 22.30, when he left the walk at Garfield Avenue. Hamilton trailed behind and stopped him. asking the negro where he was from. "North Carolina,''

The local clam has the backing of the city authorities, and in a statement to the TIMES on Wednesday. Mayor Sofroney said that every facility will M provided to make the Sea Isle City clam one that will equal any similar class

Fishing on county bridges will not be tolerated, it was decided at the meeting of the County. Board of Freeholders, Wednesday afternoon. The matter was brought up by County Engineer Smith, who stated that such fishing should be stopped as It was dangerous to the fishermen and made motoring across the bridges difficult for autouta Freeholder Miller declared that there will be a number of people killed If such fishing Is not prohibited. On motion of Mr. Goalin a sign prohibiting fishing will be placed at each end of all county bridges and all bridge tenders notified to enforce it and report any violations to the Freeholder*. The Cape May County rioequlto Extermination Commission reported Us 200,000 feet of ditching completed and a balance of 81.792.00 on hand. The commission requested 83.000 for 1926, and this was granted. Bids for coal were received from John H. Roes, of Cape May Court House and Michael A. Luongo, of Sea Isle City. Mr. Roes bid as follows: Chestnut coal delivered to cornty buildings, 814.25 a ton; stove coal to county' buildings, 814.36 a ton; stove coal to County Farm, 614.60 a ton. Total for 30 of first, 70 of second and 80 of third. $2,302.00.
