Mystery surrounds the circumstances ot tbe accident lu which a Chrysler roadster, stolen from outside a Somers Point roadhouse, shortly before i o'clock Monday morning, crashed through tbe metal rail on tbe second bridge of the Ocean City-Somere Point Boulevard and. carrying 76 feet of tbe rail with It. plunged into tbe waters of Great Egg Harbor Bay below. The car. from evi. deuce, was going toward Somers. Point. Claim* Car Was Stolen The Identity of tbe driver of tbe car. who either borrowed It or stole It. is veiled in tbe deepest mystery. Harry and Robert Nelson. sons of tbe bridge-tender, told tbe reporter of seeing a man. dripping wet and running balfc ratedly tn Longport. some time before the wrack was discovered. Sometime before midnight Bertwell left tbe party. He bad but recently left a hospital, where he had been confined by sickness and wanted to get home early. Less than an hour later the rest of the party prepared to go home. When they came outside. Mias Kenny said, the Chrysler was gone.
