Governmental statistics from Washington show 34 deaths In Camden last year, or a rate of S8.S per 100,000, higher by almost ten than the average ot 18.9 per 100.000 for the entire 77 cities covered by ‘.he vital statistic* registration area of the United States Department of Commerce. The highest rate of any city 1, given to Paterson where the rate wes 34.8 per 100.000. The third city lu the list also la In New Jersey, that distinction going to Trenton, with an automobile fatality rate of 34T per 100,000. Camden In 1924 had a decrease of eight from Its automobile death total of 44 during 1933. when this city had the highest rate of 34.4 per 100.000. The average for the 77 cities in that year was 18.6, or slightly lees than the average
for last year.
For the four weeks which ended September 13. there were six automobile fatalities reported In Camden, one-fourth of all the automobile deaths that have occurred since the first of this year In the city. In the preceding four weeks, however, which ended August 16. only two fatalities occurred. Up to Sep-ember 12, a total of 24 deaths had occurred from automcMle accidents In since t’se first of the year.
