Fire Causes Serious Loss in Woodbine Barnes and Sheds Burned and Homes Threatened By Wind Driven Flames

It then spread. due to the wind, to the property owned by Jacob Feldman, and from there to the rear of the home and barn of Abe Becker and the roof of the home of Deo Dacnerhlrsb. which was badly damaged. Tht fire also threutcned Rosenfeld's Hardware Store and the Borough Hall, but I. afore It made any headway there. • It was extinguished. The real damage was done to Abe Becker, when three large shedr and barns were completely burned and the house was damaged In the rear. Other building* damaged by the fire were a small barn of Mr. Simon Friedman and a abed on the property of Jacob Feldman, which Is occupied by Boiwlnlck'e pure food store. The barn and garage of Harry Grossman, nearby were also completely destroyed. Despite the effects of the local Are fighters and volunteers, the blue spread rapidly from one barn to another and It was necessary for calls for aid to be sent to the fire companies of MUvIlla. The effectiveness of the new "drunken driver" law was again demonstrated In the county when William Springer. 56. of Delmont. was sentenced to sixty days in the county Jail by Justice J. S. Devine, of Woodbine, last Sunday evcnlug. Springer's

Springer was arrested by County Detective Higbee. at Belleplain. after the motor truck which he was driving overturned on Broad Street about 9 P. M. Sunday.
