This has not yet been done, according to Mr. Higbee. According to all reports, how- , ever, the Nasco concern has had a hard time selling their contracts to Cape May County folks. These contracts purport to give legal aid. lowing service, personal accident insurance, discount on repair costs, and a two-eent-a-gallon reduction on gasoline to all automobile owners who pay the "membership" fee of the corporation. Five "Gyp" Associations Indicted The federal grand jury recently returned indictment* against five “gyp" automobile service association*, ending a fight that has been waged by the Pennsylvania State Department 01 Insurance, the Automobile Club of Philadelphia, the American Automobile Association and other civic organizations for many months against tlie activities of these fake automobile clubs. The five associations indicted. all of which haw already been drivni from the city, arc: National Automobilists’ Servict Association. Mutual Automobilists' Cooperative Association. North American Automobile Owner' Association. Northern Automobile Accident Co.. Inc. Equitable Automobile Service Association. It will be remembered that the National Automobilists' Service Asocial-on was driven from the city in March,, 1925. after The Automobile Club of Philadelphia liad submitted evidence to the local office of The Stat* Department of Inranct. Information relating to the activities of all ot the other issodations was also obtained by the club. The nie*hod of operation of all five gyp cl>ib( was similar. They sold what in their langwas a “service contract”, which the salesman led the automobile owner to believe , a policy of insurance.
