Mr*. Prantx discussed the progress being made by the organisation in pushing temperance work and discussed the adrantage to the organisation and Jaw enforcement of recent legislation by Congress placing prohibition enforcement officials under civil service and reducing the number of distilleries permitted to make medicinal lltjuor and the number of wharehouses for its storage. Recalling that her first te peranee speech was made In the presence of the founder of the W. C. T. L'.. Frances Willard, the only woman so far accorded place in the Hall of Fame in 1 National Capitol. Mrs. FrnnU aald she had been raised in a temperance atmosphere and been engaged In the work all her life and regarded the W. C. T. U. just a little finer than any other woman's organization because of the pledge required. Mrs. Print* touched upon other features of the work In an address which held the close attention of her audience. Mrs. Eiizaoetn (twain, the county president, made a short address on "Increased Memberahlp.” Other features of the evening were a little playlet by members of the local union, a reading, o quiz and several musical selections all by members of the local union. Eight new member* were received into the union and ISO in dues paid in. Some sixty-odd White Rlbboners were present, officers of all the local unions of the county being guests of the evening. A fine luncheon was served the guests before the program. The social was held In basement of the M. E Chunch. which was prettily decorated lor the occasion, the color scheme being yellow.
