With few exceptions, practically all the crops of the orchards of the Shore Road, in Cape May County, were annihilated by the late May frost. An eighteen-mile strip south of Millville, extending into the Maurice River section, met the same fate. Delaware was far from being wholly spared.

There Are Mighty Few Peaches in South Jersey

In Cape May County there are not enough to supply one-quarter of the demand. Peaches brought in from a distance will be high priced, and bruised and soft from travel.

The large orchards of the Ocean View Farms, growing near to the ocean, were practically frost proof If you will phone Sea Isle City 23-R-14 two hours ahead, you can get peaches picked fresh from the trees - - fine, juicy, luscious fruit, which will be ready for you when you call. A little longer may be required, depending on the number of orders ahead of you. You can call for them in vour automobile, but orders will be held for TWO HOURS ONLY.
