On August 26. 1827. a formal complaint was made before of the Peace, against one, Atma Hovlngton (colored), charging her with keeping a disorderly house and with the sale of Intoxicating liquors. After bearing the complaint, which was submitted In writing, signed and sworn to by the complainant. I issued a warrant for the arrest of Alma Hovlngton and all Inmates of her house as prescribed by the statutes. The warrant was given to Constable Charles Unfreed, who with the aid of Yildwood City Police, served the warrant on the man found In charge of the place, one Joseph T. Jefferson (colored). The alleged proprietress of the place was not found, was not brought before me. nor has she since been apprehended under the warram Issued by me. The said Joseph T.
