The controversary that started tost week at the Wildwdod Commissioners' meeting over the discontinuing of the Mercantile Tax on Rooming Houses- uh* continued at the mooting this week. Those who advocate the stopping of the tax allege that the collection Is not standard, inasmuch a* some people pay and some do not. Mayor Picrpont explained that the I reasons for this condition may be other than the Tax Collector's negligence, as was *toted by several of ihe speaker*. Mr. Picrpont explained that It would be an Impossibility to discontinue the tax since it brings the city close to 36500. If this tax wa* no longer emorced the money would be raised by a general taxation. The Mayor also mentioned that cases of this sort should be reported to the authorities, and they would endeavor to enforce the law uni-
