County Ready For Tovmaend'a Inlet-Avalon Bridge Work on the bods* from Cwigport to North Ocean City started last week. It will cut the distance between Atiintk City and Ocean City t«» seven and a half Rales. The nest link in the Ocean Highway should be the span that will connect Townsends Inlet am’ Avalon. This much needed bridge has been discussed for several years. It has been and still is on the program of accomplishment of the Cape May County Chamber of Commerce. That it i« esamtisl to the proper development of the county has been well rstaMishrd. It faces no voiced apposition. A survey of the project has been made and reported to the Freeholder*. And there it ha»

Sea lale Road Mu*t Be Opened May 1st The contract tor the reconstruction of the Sea i Isle City Boulevard was swarded to the Hill Dredging Company at a special anerting of the Freeholders Wednesday afternoon. The contract pros ides for the completion of the ' work in ninety days. It is scheduled to start' February !**• A* previously pointed out in these j columns s delay of even a few days would hr i serious blow to Sea Isle City. A longer one would be nothing short of a catastrophe. It would rum the retort's season and its rfinrt would be frit for yean to come. And what a horrible piece of 1 1 puhimiv it would be for Cape May Counts. Visiting motorists, finding the rood dosed and ■ compelled to detour to I kean City to get to Sea; Isle would heap mote vs mown upon the county. Itself, than the resort. Many of them ought never cnwplrtr rbe.r trips, and. whether they- did ot nut. would return to their homes in thorough |

Neither Sea Isle Gty nor the county can afford to have the Boulevard dowd after May 1st. We repeal what sre have before emphasnrd. The contractor must reewse no ^rncnms extern**.» m leniency. The rood must be opened by Mas t«..
