Yesterday evening, about 0.80, a bone driven In a dog cart, belonging to Mrs. Mendenhall, residing in the Allieft cottage, and being driven to the stable by ' Albert Marriott, took flight on Washington street, near Decatur, caused by the boy attempting to drive by another carriage, and sheerltt" out, struck a telegraph pole, then ran across Decatur Square Into the comer double bulk window of Kennedy's drug Store, breaking an iron awning post short off snd crashing the big lower panes all around the bulk. The erased animal's head was thrust through, cutting his neck, the shock throwing him to.the pavement upon hit broadside, the blood spurting from his wounds and forming great pools upon the sidewalk. Many goods In the window were mined, and the t amount of damage considerable. Strange to say, the boy was thrown out unhurt. There was great excitement in the neighborhood for a time, and the store clerks and the family terribly
startled.
Mr*. President Harrison and other members of the family were riding along at the ilme and narrowly escaped colll■ilon with the runaway. Mra. Harrison was very moth alarmed, aa the thoroughly scared horse tore across the heads of their team, but happily they escaped without harm.
