Knight's mode of travel to the old time waa by stage. The trip occupied about eighteen boars, and there were generally five change* of hones. The stage usually left Camden at about 4 A. M., arriving at Cape May ie same evening at ten o'clock. About the year 1841. steamboats began running here from Philadelphia. Among them were the Ohio, Robert Morri* and Bolivar, the latter commanded by a Captain Wbilhlin, a name well-known to Cape May County. Mr. Knight, ruuieiubeni when there were no streets here, bat simply lanes. The first drive-way was to Bchellangsr'i Landing. This was bnllt by aTurnplki Company, chartered by the Bute, in which Mr. Knigbt waa the holder of shares for which be paid two thousand dollars and afterward sold for two
