“Lbs Buioaxim," promised eArtier in the seAAOU. is now ready and wit played on the iruu pier this evening, is strong in all its parts, and has been thoroughly rebearsod by the eomj The music is particularly fine. The popular comedian Walker has a great part and is so much Interested In it that he will play enthusiastically am) surely interest the most critical audience. The troupe has been strengthened by the addition of six pretty girls to the chorus.
EVBBTOXK who witnessed CETp^formsnee of the “La Msscotle" on Saturday evening, on the pier were delighted with ft and pronounced it excellent throughout. Messrs. Kred Freer aud Mount joy Walker, the favorite comedians, made some extremely good local hits. In addition to performing their respective parts “Lorenxo" and “Roceo" perfectly. Walter Ford was also excellent as “Pippo." Miss Aldrich was frequently encored as “Bettina," and played the part in excellent taste.

Is THF problem of beach pavilions, which has for so many seasons seemed to be puzzling both the public and the local press, not working Its own solution? As noted, an Initial step was taken at Congress Baths, by the erection of a large tent ou the strand above high water mark that should serve as a shaded resting place for the patrons, ' and their friends. The general public, whether patrons of the baths or not, were nut lung In utilizing a good thing when they saw U, ami so the spot Is much sought by many wbo usually spend the mid-day hours upon the beach. Another, though smaller, is proportionately useful. None followed the example, except that private tents are becoming more numerous dot the strand here and there quite picturesquely. Much benefit Is derived from these tents, and nut a particle of harm done, nor can the moat chronic croaker assume that “the beach Is ruined," ‘'the view la cut off," or any of the absurd things some have prophesied would be the case if anything w. allowed upon the beach. The scene all the prettier, more attractive and tucomfortable, so rather than think of removing them, let others go and do likewise. Canvas over the entire beach. If you will, and only praises will be heard. Recently It was suggested by some one that the proper thing to do give a shaded place to spectators, would be to place pavilions over an arehi across the beach drive, but such ideas are entirely foreign to the demands of
the beach visiting public.
