Tut Daily Stab contalni all the local news, and this fact Is generally appreciated. Nearly crery edition it rapidly sold, and yesterday it be necessary to print an extra edition to meet the demand. No better eridenee of the popularity of the leading Cape

May paper could be girec.

The oplaioc is expressed by a rialtor that If arrangements were made by which round trip tickets could be obtained to Cape May from pilots in the South and West at reduced rate* and good during the season until October 1 that travel from those sections aould be greatly stimulated. He Bays that there la a growing Interest In Cape May In the sections referred to, which should be cultivated by the placing of Information as to the resort within easy

We enjoyed a call yeateiday from an old friend Hon. John S. Vanglldor, of Knoxville, Tcou., who la one of the regular visitors to Cape May each Seafeou. He has been visiting relatives In various parts ol the county and enjoying blmaelf greatly. Mr. Vangllder la one of the most prominent business men of of Knoxville and la Interested In many enterprises. He predlou a great 'mure for bit section, the development of coal, copper and xloo mines and fine marble which abound being among other aids to prosperity. Mr. Vangllder lelt his home in Cape May county in 1851 and tells many interesting anecdotes of his experience. He came to Cape May from Knoxville In twenty-six hour*, bnt he remembers vividly when the trip required eleven days. He la a member of the highly respected (amily of Vanglldcre In this county, of wblob there are records dating back to 1040 In an old Lutheran Chnrch in New York, the record* referred to being those of the baptisms -- of the children of the origins! family whleh came to the then New World. Fbom time immemorial the opinion has been expressed that with factories and the permanent employment they would give Cape May wonld be much more prosperous than now, and wonld have a business extending all the year ronnd. The establishment of the gold beating .factory at Weat Cape May has been certainly produetive of good results, and several similar Institutions, It as satisfactory, wonld undoubtedly prove to be beneficial. So general hsa hern the desire fi r the permanent business which wonld result from tbeestablishment of factories that City Connoii passed an ordinance, which was approved April 7, 1878. by which manufacturing establishments, representing an Inveetmcnt of 110,000 or more, and employing fifteen workmen or more, will be exempted from taxation for five years. Tbe Connoii is authorised to advertise this proposition

annually.

We are now antborlxcd by the owner of considerable land in this city to offer sufficient ground opon which to erect a factory which will employ not less than twelve men to any responsible indl vidoal or firm who will establish such t factory here. Application may be made at this office.
