Maine, on June 4. for Stockholm, resulted in the death of Captain Orr. to' members of the schooner's crew and four Swedish customs officials. Two of the Louise Ade-

laide's crew were saved.

The explosion set the schooner afire, and the blazing petroleum enveloped the

vessel and those on board.

The Louise Adelaide left Philadelphia on April 24 for Stockholm. On May 13 she put into Dutch Island harbor, R. L, having encountered a heavy gale on the edge of the gulf stream. From Dutch Island harbor she was towed to Portland. Maine, for repairs, where she was refitted as a schooner and resumed her
