The trial of the suit has been in prorreu for three days, and was fought moat vigorously on both sides, Mr. Campbell being represented by Assemblyman H. 8. Snivel, of Camden. Air. Campbell is a salesman for a Philadelphia firm, and on June 9 last wa* being driven from Cape May to this place: When near Bennett's Station they tried to pass a reel wagon of the telephone company. The plaintiff claimed that lust as be jvas opposite the reel wagon the workman started to unwind the wire from the red, and in doing so frightened the hone, which ran away, throwing both men out, Mr. Campbell breaking hi* ankle. Mr. Hackney, the driver of the team, waa' *0 badly hurt that he died shortly after the accident. The continuation of the December term of the Cape May County Court* of Common Plea* and Qudrter Session* were opened on Monday with Law Judge Voorhee* on the Bench. Monday wa* occupied with the trial of the cane of Joseph Sale against the Independent Ice and Coal Company, in which the jury gave Nale $45 a* hi* damages for a horse hurt by one of the company's ice wagons last summer. Tuesday was occupied with the trial* of Jleury Brown, James Brown sod Elwood Bailey for stealing from Harry Stiles' house. Court House, on December 20, and with the case against Frsnkiw Jones for larceny and breaking.and entering the saloon of William H. -Pinker. Holly Beach. The jury in 10 minutes' time brought lu the two. Brown* and Bailey guilty. The Grand Jury adjourned until the _3th of this month. The cases against all saloon keepers of Cape May city were put off until the' •April term of Court. William Kiaa Barlrd.
