Superintendent Eetch. of the New York Division of the Philadelphia & Reading Railway, on receiving the dispatch, immediately wired to Yardmaster Peter Mallcy. of Trenton, and asked for a police train with, orders for a clear track from Trenton to Glen Moore. Constables Potts, Howell, Capple, Seaser. Smith were secured, an empty box car picked up by the engine, manned by Engineer Martin Burkhardt and Fireman William Boody. The time between Trenton Junction and Glen Moore was made within ten minutes. In the meantime. however, the approach of a coal train had frightened the robbers away. DeHavcn was able to point out the direction taken by the men and the trail was followed by the police to the hills, where it w aw lost in a thick wood.
