THE CAPK MAY CUP. New York Yacht Club will Again P«»aaeaa the Famous Trophy. From the New York Time*. Th# prevailing opinion among New York Yacht Club members is that the Cape May Cup will be re turned to the dob without Commodore Plant baring a chance to race for It. A well-tufoemed member said yesterday: “No oommnnlcation baa passed up to this time between the Royal Yacht Squadron aad tbe Nfw York Yacht Club. and tbe only information we have on the subject is from the cablegram* published In the newsyaper*. But as a matter of fact the Royal Yacht Squadron can do nothing bat return tbe cap to the New York Yacht Club. Tbe Britannia forfeit' ed the cup whgaabe waa sold oat by th* Royal Yacht Squadron and could not now legally defend it even If she were np to date and in the boat of trim. The tact that King .Edward hga recently repurchased her does not restore the cap to her keeping.
