Hand drove to Wildwood on Wednesday evening. Miss Salhe IJoyd of' Seaville has returned to her home after spending a few dav- with Mr. and Mr*. F. Hand. A large number of our peoqle took advantage of tne evening bain on Monday evening and attended the breaking up of camp meeting at Seaville. Mr*. Nelson Hand has secured a French cook for the remainder of the summer months and fallMbs Martha Neal, whs ha* a position at Cape May. spent Sunday with her parents, Mr. and Mrs George Neal Miss Ada Hand, accompanied by her gentleman friend, were Monday evening visitors to Cape May, attending •‘Uncle Tom’s Cabin," which was given there in a large tent. Miss Lida Neal, who graduated from the school of trained nurses in Philadelphia in June, and who after graduating had a severe case to attend, is now at her home for a two weeks' vacation. The Misses laura, Downs and Rita Neal, two of Rio’s most accomplished belles, were among the throng that attended camp meeting at Seaville on Sundav and Monday, Harry Turner, «ho i* acting a* fireman on the work train for the East Cape May Co. at Cape Mav, was a Sundav visitor at the home of his parents, Mr. ind Mrs. Ira Torner.

Should either of the clubs win both matches then the championship of the year will go oat to the winner, but should there be a tie the third match will be played at Atlantic City. William F. Williams Appointed by the Piwoldeat on Saturday. President Roosevelt on Saturday appointed Wil lam F. William* postmaster of this olty to suoosad the late Dr. Waltor 8. Learning, who died Is April of last year. The appointment was no surprise to those who understood the deaire* of Coogiwaa man Gardner, who mads up his mind last November to choose Mr. Williams, but who delayed making the appointment for reason* beat known to himself, until last Saturday. The application was endorsed by ez-Beualor Robert K. Hand. Congrca*man Henry C. Loudenalager. formerly of this district, and Mayor Stoy. of Atlantic Olty. In this appointment SenatorCrsase and Assemblyman Hildreth were entirely Ignored by Congressman Gardner. This la the same course as taken by the Congressman in the appointment of Postma* ter Kieischbauer. who was appointed at Cold Spring last November, when Irvin H Eldredge resigned Heretofore the postmasters In the county have been selected upon the recommendation of the atate senator, but Congressman Gardner being a new representative for this county, haa decided that he will not consnlt the regular representatives of the people. Mr. William is s son of the 1st* Enos A Williams who was a boyhood friend of Congressman Gardner; wp* formerly member of the Democratic party and ba* never been regarded as a Republican He supported Lemuel E. Mflier, Dem., for atate senator four years ago, and last autumn be managed, with Janie# K. Taylor, the election matters in thisscity for Edward U. Rice, the Democratic candidate for senator He is about thirty years of age. Personally, we congratulate him upon his appointment and hope he will make a postmaster who will serve the public satisfactorily.
