Congressman Gardner, although now serving bin sixth term, had a seat in the Houae of KepreaentaUvet in the next to the back row, sod as it waa not quite as desirable aa the one occupied by Con. gressman Canning, which waa on the fourth row, therefore, when Mr. tanning resigned from the Honae to accept the United States District Court Judgeship. Mr. Gardner made immediate application for the seat and got it. Others had their eye un it, but Mr. Gardner waa around early opening day. Congressman Harry Loudemdager is one of the ten men who »it on the front row.
